Happy New Year 2016!

I wanted to make a post on some new year resolutions and goals I have set for myself so that I can look back on them in 2016 and see if I have accomplish any of them. I realized that I never went back to do a check off list with my previous new year resolutions but I think I will start to do it from now on.

My new year resolutions for 2016

1. Exercise more. So after being told by some family members recently that I seem to have gained weight and need to lose weight. I was so devastated by their words as this is the first time I have ever got told that. I recently weighed myself on a weight scale (which is something I rarely do because I don't think weight matters as it's just a number) but I have gained 15 lbs and I am at the heaviest weight that I have ever been right now! T_T I definitely want to get back into having a fit body again and also improve my overall health as I sit way too much at work and at home and I'm starting to develop pain in my arms, lower back and knees.

2. Eat more healthy. Okay, this I have always been doing but for the year of 2016, I want to be able to eat more well balanced and nutritious meals to balance my diet with my workout. Such as eating more vegetables and less carbs, rice and meat.

3. Take better care of my skin. I admit it. I sometimes get lazy with my skincare routine and tend to neglect extensive care for my skin. Also because I'm getting older now I need to take even better care of my skin to prevent aging, wrinkles and all the unattractive stuff and as well as doing face masks more often than I do in a week.

4. Learn to cook soup. So I can pretty much cook enough simple meals but I don't know how to make soup and soup is such a vital care for not only the body but skin too. I want to learn to cook some Chinese soups that will help me 保身 and improve my skin.

5. Sleep earlier! No more playing with my phone while laying in bed or watching dramas/movies until I get tired. Dark circles are starting to be a big issue and need more rest for my eyes.

6. Get my G2. I have been putting it off since I got my G1. I'm terrified of driving and I have horrible sense of directions. But I think it is time I should face my fears and get it over with sooner than later cuz I'll definitely be even more scared to drive as I get older.

Let's see how many of these I can accomplish at the end of 2016, lol.

Christmas Market

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Sorry I haven't updated in about 2 weeks. I have been sick and work got busy and I was also really stressed out about some personal things. So glad I have the next few days off before going back to work again next week. Still feeling kind of sick at the moment so I'm trying to get more rest and spend less time on the computer.

Anyway, here are some pictures I took a few weeks back when I went to visit the Christmas Market at the distillery district area in downtown near Front street. It was actually my first time ever going this year and it was quite an interesting experience (minus all the crowd and lineups for every shop) and I would go again but maybe not on a Friday night when there are soooo many people everywhere. I hope everyone else is having a great Christmas and if I don't update my blog in time for the new year, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016!!! =)

Doraemon Museum: Fujiko F. Fujio Museum

DORAEMON MUSEUM! I have dreamed of coming to this museum ever since I knew it existed. I'm a super huge fan of Doraemon. I have been watching the anime ever since I was a kid and I just love love love this blue robot cat with a pocket full of magical gadgets. Visiting the museum was so nostalgic and surreal to me and I was soooo happy that I finally got to visit it that I could possibly cry in happiness! Although I was really saddened by the fact that it was raining all day when I visited the museum. Ugh, never would have expected that there would be soooo much rain during fall in Tokyo. Because of the rain I did not get to take as much pictures as I have anticipated to do due to the fact that it was gloomy and dark and not the best condition to take outdoor pictures. I'd LOVE to come back to visit the museum again during a bright and sunny day. Because this post will be a bit long and I have too many pictures so I will split it into two blog posts. This one will be on the museum and my next post will be on the gift shop at the museum and what I bought.

Getting to the museum is actually pretty easy. You can take the Odakyu Odawara Line train from Shinjuku station to Noborito station. Once you get there you will be immediately greeted with this super cute Doraemon poster to ensure you are on your way to the museum! You can then board the special bus downstairs outside of the station which will take you directly to the museum. There are frequent buses and different ones each with a different character theme.

They had a section outside where you can lock up your umbrellas since you are not allowed to bring them inside and I took a picture of my umbrella with the number so that I could remember where I locked it. XD

Christmas Illuminations in Japan

Lately I haven't been in the best mood because my plans to go to Japan again this coming February may not happen anymore due to the fact that I cannot find hotels available to go to the Snow Festival in Sapporo. So my friend and I have been planning to go to Sapporo in February as we both really wanted to see the Snow Festival with ice sculptures that is held there each year as well as go to the city of Otaru to visit the White Lover's Chocolate factory. However, because this snow festival is such a huge event in Sapporo that over 2 million people go there every year including about 50,000 tourists from all over the world, it was sooooo hard to find hotels with rooms available during the time the festival is happening. I started looking to book for hotels as early in October and it was already all booked! ((゚□゚;)) We're hoping to be able to go in February 2017 now since we cannot find any hotels with rooms available to go in February 2016. I may need to start booking for rooms as early as August or September for February 2017.

With that said, I was really saddened by the fact that I won't be going back to Japan again this coming February and suddenly my heart just shattered into pieces as if it was the end of the world for me. Because that's how much I wish to be back in Japan! I have all these places that I have researched and planned to visit and things I wanted to do and it made me really sad that I won't be able to do them. It's not so much about the shopping that I miss in Japan. It's more of the presence of just being in Japan that I miss the most. Wandering in the street, being on the train, going to 711 everyday, spotting idol ads on the trains and the streets, watching and observing people in the city. I miss all of that sooooo much that my heart is aching and longing to go back again soon. Then I realize that just because things didn't go the way I have planned but that doesn't mean I should lose hope. I need to stay positive and stay focused on doing other things.

I only have a few things left to blog about from my Tokyo trip last year and it made me sad as I don't know what I'll be blogging about after as nothing interesting happens in my daily life that is blog worthy. But then I realize there is a lot of other things I could blog about such as writing reviews for all the things I purchased from Japan...makeup, skincare and hair products! I was so fixated in thinking about blogging about places in Japan, I forgot about all the other Japan related things I could blog about.

I have also been thinking and planning when I can go back to Japan again if my plan to go back in February 2017 fails again. I'm thinking of a possible trip go back in November or December of 2016 to see Christmas illumination lights! I have always dreamed of going to Japan during the winter time near Christmas because of the super pretty and colourful Christmas illumination lights they have all over Japan during this time. I think when it comes to Christmas illuminations, Japan definitely has the best ones in the world!

Isn't it just beautiful?!?!?! Looking at these pictures makes me wish to be in Japan now!! (T___T)

Eventually I want to be able to go to Japan during all the seasons at least once during my lifetime. I want to be able to experience going there to see cherry blossoms in spring, hanabi (fireworks) festival during the summer, autumn leaves in the fall and Christmas illumination lights in the winter. Because when going to Japan, it is always best to go during the seasonal event times because they only happen once a year. You can always go to Japan during any other times and the places will be and look the same but it is during the once in a year time that visiting these places will look ever so magical and the most beautiful and it is definitely a memorable experience to have.
