Review: Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Matcha Cafe

Okay so here we go again with another review on the Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Matcha Cafe. OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE! I can see myself coming back here again and again more than the original Japanese cheesecake shop next door. Forget that, let me eat all the matcha madeleines and ice cream! I went there for the first time when it just newly opened and there was not much of a line or wait time. I was in and out of the cafe in less than 5 minutes. However, it is slowly starting to build a line now when I went back again for the second, third, and fourth time. But the line is nothing as crazy as the the original cheesecake shop next door. You don't really need to line up if you are just buying ice cream and shave ice. People are just lining to get the matcha madeleines in which you have to wait for them to bake them.

Matcha Cheesecake coming soon in August for a grand opening. OMG I CAN'T WAIT! As I have mentioned in my earlier post before that I did not find the original cheesecake all that amazing but I have a feeling I will LOVE the matcha flavoured one because I just loveeeee everything matcha! (｡♥‿♥｡) I'm afraid that when they finally get the matcha flavour, it will create another HUGE lineup outside the cafe just like the original shop. I can already foresee that happening. -___- But I think the wait time will be much worth it than getting the original cheesecake! =P

I find how they hang a wind chime in front of the door is so "Japanese" style, lol.

So I was really excited to try their matcha slushie but they still don't have it available yet out of the 4 times I have been to the shop. I don't know when they will ever have it but I'll maybe try my luck again next week and hoping they'll finally have it! *fingers crossed* 

Even the wall design is sooooo Japanese style with the fan decorations and all. Very summer 夏日 feel. It feels like as if I'm just in Japan. Btw, I also really like the "wood" interior design inside the cafe as well. Also, very Japanese style, lol.

So there are two kinds of matcha madeleines you can get. Just plain matcha flavour or matcha with red bean. They didn't have the matcha with red bean during the first week of their opening but they have it the 3rd time when I went back! That is just the matcha in the picture above.

And matcha with red bean! Now that I have tasted both flavours, I like them both but I think I like the ones with the red bean more. XD

Ah, even the box for the madeleines is soooooo cute! ♡(˃͈ દ ˂͈ ༶ ) And I love that it is also in the colour GREEN.

They had the buy 3 get 1 free deal just like the honey madeleines at the original shop but it's no longer available anymore. Now you have to pay to buy each madeleines individually if you want to buy 4. I'm kind of sad that they no longer offer the deal anymore. T____T

Matcha shave ice with red bean! It tasted rather normal because they didn't have condense milk to put in the shave ice. How can you not have condense milk for shave ice?!?!?! I was soooooo shocked when the cashier told me they don't have milk to add to the shave ice but I still got it anyway and it just doesn't taste the same. This is not my first time eating shave ice. I've had Japanese style shave ice before and I'm quite disappointed to say the ones I've had before tasted much better than this. 

And of course you gotta try MATCHA ICE CREAM!!! MMMM.....I LOVE matcha ice cream. It was the first thing I tried and got from the cafe! XD You can choose to get it on a cone or a cup. I like eating it with a cone more! =P 

So ya, I basically tried almost everything on the menu already except for the matcha cheesecake that I can't wait to try! And I want to go back and buy more matcha madeleines. I've also tried the honey flavour ones they sell at the original shop but I don't find them that great. Matcha madeleines are muchhhh better! XD
